New member Stephane Dumas, originally from Montreal, recounted his "flight" from an eager air cadet at the controls (albeit under supervision) to high-end restauranteur in Washington, to jumping out of planes with the US Army 82nd Airborne Division, then through the world of aviation as a pilot and in the private jet charter business in 1997 until the crash of corporate travel during the recession years from 2006-2008. As he described it, his success in the restaurant industry afforded him the funds to pursue flying. And through his success in aviation he enjoyed restaurants. Stephane was also involved in managing a private airport in Markham, Ontario (see the links about this enterprise). He sees Osoyoos as a gem and its airport as a blank slate "boutique.". His current interests have taken him in the direction of manned and unmanned aviation. Stephane has a young family with son Hunter, age 9 and his daughter Tiffany, 5. He and his wife are enjoying their move to Osoyoos where he is currently sharing his expertise with the owners of Convivia Restaurant -- the location of the Club's Christmas party on December 1st.
